If you know your computer inside-out, it will be much easier to fix certain issues. Even if you seek help from others, they will ask you about your operating system, installed software, hardware and so on. System Spec can provide you with all these details. From the operating system's version to the processor's ID, this lightweight application places any relevant information at your fingertips.

System Spec is part of a larger software suite. Just like its counterparts, this application is freeware and portable. All you have to do is download an executable, which is 2.20 MB and run it.

When launched, the application will display general information about your computer, on its main interface. You can find your operating system's version, processor info and speed, IP and MAC addresses, BIOS version and much more. The best part is that System Spec displays this information right away and you will not have to wait until a scanning process is complete.

You can find more information on separate windows. Clicking a series of icons, located on a toolbar, will reveal your personal Windows information, such as the product ID, serial number and others, information about the computer's RAM, processor, hard drive, optical drives, installed software and hardware and much more.

Certain information windows contain a few options, for opening a related information window or additional tools. For example, if you bring up the information about your CPU, you may click a button to display a usage meter, on a separate window. Besides the current usage and the usage history, the meter also displays the current CPU speed (in MHz) and its clock cycles. Additionally, each information window provides a Print option. The general information can be exported in TXT, CSV or HTML format and you can also print out your computer's full specs.

Pros

You can find mostly any information about your computer, its operating system, installed software and hardware and more. All details are revealed right away, so you don't have to perform any scans. The application is free and you don't have to go through an installation process to use it.

Cons

There are no serious drawbacks to mention. Everything there is to know about a computer, its hardware components and installed software, can be found on System Spec's easy to understand interface.
